Tune Them Out

Tune Them Out is the third item in my consumption series. Advertised as a self-defense item. Tune Them Out falls more under a clear parody of a real product than an actual passible product. The packaging uses similar wording to real-world items only when viewers look into the package what they find is a pair of pink earplugs. This is a commentary on the advice often given to women and those of a minority. Often told to ignore dangerous people and that reacting or speaking out only feeds into what they want.

The original design looked too small once printed so I ended up adapting it to the front and back of the packaging to allow the font to be bigger.

I also played around with having corrupted copies of this object too.

I ended up not liking the way the design looked on the packaging. It was still too small and didn’t look right. So I went back to the drawing board for packaging and redesigned the layout.
